About me |
I was born and raised on Whidbey Island in Washington State. I hold a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling and Human Development and Family Science from Oregon State University and a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Theology from Seattle University. As an instructor at Oregon State University, Chapman University, and Skagit Valley College, I taught classes in Psychology, Human Sexuality, Interpersonal Communications, Stress Management, and Families with Addiction just to name a few. I had a mental health practice at Cottage Grove Counseling Center in Cottage Grove, Oregon where I counseled children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups. As the Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist of Prince William County, Virginia, I coordinated and implemented workshops and seminars state wide. I received the "Governor's Recognition Award" for exemplary program development. I have found my academics and work experience to be extremely fulfilling and rewarding.
Throughout the years, I have pursued my life ambition which is to provide compassionate support, gentle nurturing, and a safe place to answer the question "Who am I?" My education, professional expertise, and personal experiences have prepared me to help others to find their voice, discover who they are, and live a life of joy. I believe my ultimate purpose is to assist others in empowering themselves, so they can create the life they desire and deserve. |
